YNAB Together:
YNAB has a feature called YNAB Together. This feature allows you to share your budget with me as your coach. This is helpful, in the event that you need support with the software. This is not required. You can also use YNAB together to add up to 5 people to your paid subscription to YNAB.
Coaching Disclaimer:
As a coach, my role is to guide and support you using the tools, strategies, and skills I have learned to help improve your financial mindset and habits. I am not acting as your personal financial manager or making financial decisions on your behalf.
I will help you get started by providing structure, education, and practical guidance. However, lasting progress comes from your own engagement and effort. You will be responsible for implementing and maintaining the systems and habits we discuss.
My role is to support, encourage, and provide accountability—not to complete the work for you.
I am a YNAB Certified Coach, which means that I have been trained to coach people on using YNAB software and the YNAB method. I have met select requirements of YNAB in order to receive this certification, which means that I have the ability to competently coach YNAB to others. I am not an employee of YNAB, and all non-YNAB related opinions and recommendations are my own. My views do not reflect the views of YNAB and its employees or its affiliates.
Purpose of Coaching
Financial coaching is a collaborative process designed to help you build healthier financial habits, improve your money mindset, and develop practical systems for managing your finances. My role as your coach is to provide guidance, education, tools, and accountability to support you in reaching your financial goals.
Scope of Services
Coaching sessions may include assistance with the YNAB system, financial organization, goal setting, spending awareness, and developing sustainable money habits.
Financial coaching is educational and supportive in nature. It is not financial advising, investment advising, tax advising, legal advising, or financial management services.
Client Responsibility
You acknowledge that you are fully responsible for your own financial decisions, actions, and results. While I will provide guidance, resources, and support, you are responsible for implementing the strategies and systems discussed during our sessions.
Coaching also involves work between sessions. This may include reviewing your budget, entering transactions, reflecting on spending habits, or completing other agreed-upon action steps. Progress depends on your willingness to actively engage in this work and apply what we discuss in your day-to-day financial decisions.
Coaching is most effective when you are open, honest, and willing to actively participate in the process.
Confidentiality
Your privacy is important. Any and all information shared during coaching sessions—including financial details, personal circumstances, and goals—will be kept confidential. Your information will never be shared with others without your permission unless required by law.
The more openly you are able to share your real numbers and financial situations, the more effectively I can support you.
My goal is to provide a safe, supportive, and judgment-free space where you can feel comfortable discussing your finances and working toward your goals.
Session Expectations
Coaching sessions are intended to be a supportive and judgment-free environment. Clients are encouraged to come prepared with relevant information, questions, or topics they would like to discuss.
Missed or late sessions may result in shortened session time or require rescheduling.
Limitations of Coaching
Financial coaching focuses on education, habit-building, and accountability. I do not provide investment advice, tax advice, legal advice, or manage client finances.
If specialized professional services are needed, I may recommend that you seek assistance from a licensed financial advisor, tax professional, or attorney.
Commitment to the Process
Financial change takes time, consistency, and effort. Coaching is designed to support your progress, but outcomes depend on your participation and commitment to implementing what you learn.
Agreement
By participating in coaching services, you acknowledge that you understand the scope of services, accept responsibility for your own financial decisions, and agree to engage in the coaching process in good faith.
